The classic mechanical laboratory balance: three notched beams, a magnetically damped pointer and a supplied weight set that extends the range well past the base capacity — no batteries, no calibration drift.
A triple beam balance is still the most reliable mass instrument in a teaching lab.Nothing to charge, nothing to zero on power-up, and the reading is right there on the beams for students to work out themselves. Coarse beams handle hundreds of grams in fixed notches while the front beam slides continuously for the fine reading, and magnetic damping settles the pointer quickly instead of leaving it swinging.
The included attachment weights hang from the beam to extend capacity for heavier samples. A stainless pan, levelling foot and tare knob round out a balance that will outlast several generations of digital scales.
- 610 g base capacity; extends to 2,610 g with the supplied
- attachment weights
- 0.1 g readability with a continuously sliding front beam
- Magnetic damping settles the pointer fast
- Stainless steel pan and zero-adjust tare knob
- No batteries or power — nothing to calibrate before class
