Anomia Card Game

Description

Anomia is a fast-paced party card game for 3+ players (usually ages 10+). Each player has a deck of cards showing a category (like “Superhero,” “Type of Pasta,” or “Something Cold”) along with a symbol. Players take turns flipping cards from their own deck into a personal pile.

The twist: whenever two players’ top cards show matching symbols, those two players race to shout out an example of the category on their opponent’s card before the opponent does the same for theirs. Whoever answers first wins the duel and takes the other player’s card; whoever’s slower keeps flipping.

It’s known for being quick, chaotic, and surprisingly tricky — since you have to think under pressure and pay attention to everyone else’s cards, not just your own. Games typically run 15–30 minutes, and there are several editions (original, Party Edition, Junior, Teen Box, etc.) with different category sets and player counts.
